Appointments
Ring whichever surgery you are registered at to book an appointment. Urgent cases are seen on the day.
If your condition is non-urgent, you can expect to see a GP within two working days, though you may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular GP. If you don't need an appointment within two working days, you also have the option to book up to 12 weeks in advance if this is more convenient for you.
Our Nurse Practitioner is fully trained to treat a wide range of conditions and is qualified to prescribe from a wide range of medicines. In many cases it may be more appropriate for the reception staff to book your appointment with the Nurse Practitioner rather than the GP.
Say immediately if your call is an emergency. If more than one person in the family needs to be seen, please tell the receptionist at the time of booking the appointment and they will book an appointment for each person. The GP or nurse can only see one patient per appointment. Likewise if you have a number of conditions you would like to discuss, please ask for a double appointment. This helps to ensure that surgeries run to time.
You can book to have a telephone consultation with a doctor. He or she will ring you at an agreed time on the telephone number you have given. If you are only available on a mobile phone, you will be expected to ring the practice at the agreed time.
Extended Hours
We do offer later appointments for those patients who cannot attend the surgery during the normal working day. These take place on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 18:30– 19:30 at Riverside Kelsey Surgery.
These surgeries tend to get booked well in advance and are not intended for emergency use. Any patient contacting the surgery with an emergency during this time will be redirected to Thamesdoc Out of Hours Service.
